Anti-Wrinkle Treatment
in Norfolk
As we age, the repeated movement of the facial muscles can cause wrinkles to be more visible on movement and in rest. Our anti-wrinkle treatment helps temporarily reduce the appearance of these lines, leaving you looking and feeling more youthful.
During our anti-wrinkle treatment, tiny doses of a naturally occurring bacterial protein are injected just under the skin into muscles. This toxin temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for developing facial lines. This results in a temporary improvement in the appearance of lines, particularly those between and around the eyes.
There are a number of trade named toxin substances on the market which we use, including Azzalure®, Bocouture® and Botox®.

About our anti-wrinkle treatment
Assessment
This includes a consultation with Annie at our clinic just south of Norwich. We will discuss what you are concerned about and the results you are looking for. We will take your medical history and ask health-related questions to make sure the treatment is suitable for you. You will be asked to sign a patient consent form.
Treatment
The procedure lasts 15-30 minutes. I will use a very fine medical grade sterile needle to inject into the treatment area. No anaesthetic is needed for this and there is very little discomfort.
Recovery
The majority of people require no downtime following these procedures. You can return to work and normal activities the same day. Full information on after care will be provided, and Annie is always available to answer any questions during the healing process.
Result
Results are seen 10-14 days after treatment. It may take longer depending on the strength of your facial muscles and your own individual response.
We would expect the severity of the lines to be reduced for up to 4-6 months.
Treating excessive sweating
The same toxin can also be used to reduce excessive sweating. It blocks excess nerve signals to the sweat glands, thus reducing the amount of sweat the body releases. You will notice a significant reduction in sweating, and this lasts for a period of between 4 and 14 months, depending on the individual.

Follow up reviews are free of charge and are booked on day of appointment for two weeks after initial appointment.
Are there any potential side effects?
As with all prescription medication, there is a risk of side effects. Any reaction is usually minimal and temporary. You may experience slight discomfort and bruising at the site of needle entry. Some people experience a headache, especially following their first treatment. If you have any concerns, please do contact Annie who will be happy to discuss.
